Manual therapy
Manual therapy, or manipulation, is used by physiotherapists to treat musculoskeletal pain and disability. It includes kneading and manipulation of muscles, joint mobilisation and manipulation.
Electrotherapy
Electrotherapy uses electrical energy as a medical treatment. Electrotherapy comes in a variety of treatments, including interferential and ultrasound.
Pre and post surgery therapy
Pre-operative therapy helps aid your body to prepare for surgery and improve the chances of a positive outcome. It can also help you to become mentally ready for surgery. Post-operative therapy after surgery will help assist and speed up your recovery. Physiotherapy involving manual therapies are often used as part of post-operative therapies.
Acupuncture/Dry needling
Acupuncture is a treatment that takes its origins from ancient Chinese medicine. Depending on where your pain is fine needles are inserted at points for therapeutic or preventative purposes.
Remedial massage
Remedial massage is a combination of things. Knowing your patient mentally and physiologically, the ability to use different techniques and prevention of recurrence.
Sports massage
sports massage is a technique that concentrates on treating soft tissue aches and pains injuries that usually occur as a result of taking part in sport. Relief can be found in the reduction of muscle stiffness and can also promote relaxation which is also beneficial to your blood pressure.
Personal training (Level iii qualified)
Together we will work to find the right plan and disciplines for you. You will be assessed, set goals and given honest feedback and I will be there every step of the way to support and give you the motivation to succeed.
Medical/Legal assessments
We are authorised to carry out assessments to appraise whether any physical harm has occurred as a result of injury or a particular condition that you suffer from. This can be used as part of a claim or proceeding that you are involved in.
Orthopaedic referrals
If after a course of physiotherapy your systems are not responding or improving, we have the ability to refer you to an orthopaedic specialist. Who can then use specialist imaging equipment to take x-rays or scans should they be required.
Dietetic and nutritional referrals
Dietetic and nutritional specialists give you recommendations for diet and lifestyle changes to help prevent health issues and illness. They believe that the bodies biochemical system can become imbalanced leading to health problems. Click here for more about Dietetics and Nutrition
